Welcome to the Queer Connect KC guide on how to add your event to our Community Calendar. By adding your event to our calendar, you can increase its visibility and reach within the LGBTQ+ community in Kansas City. To make this process easier, we recommend hosting your event on a Facebook page and then co-hosting it with Queer Connect KC. This guide will walk you through the steps to do just that.
Prerequisites: Before you begin, please ensure that you meet the following prerequisites:
You must have a Facebook Business Page (not a personal profile or a Facebook group).
Both the event creator and Queer Connect KC must be using Facebook pages.
Ensure that your Facebook page is set to "public," and remove any age or country restrictions.
Make sure your Facebook page has "liked" the Queer Connect KC page.
If you encounter issues despite meeting all the above conditions, you may need to reach out to Facebook support for assistance.
Instructions:
Step 1: Access Your Facebook Page Event
Log in to your Facebook account.
Go to your Facebook page where you want to create or co-host the event.
Locate the event you want to add to the Queer Connect KC Community Calendar and click on it.
Step 2: Navigate to the Event Settings
Inside the event page, click the "Edit" button. This will take you to the event's editing section.
Step 3: Access Event Settings
Scroll down through the editing options until you find the "Category" section.
Continue clicking "Next" until you reach the "Event settings" section. Click on "Event settings."
Step 4: Add Queer Connect KC as a Co-Host
In the "Event settings" section, locate the "Co-host" option.
Click on the "Co-host" option, and a search bar will appear.
Begin typing "Queer Connect KC" in the search bar.
When the Queer Connect KC page appears, select it.
Finally, click "Save" to confirm Queer Connect KC as a co-host of your event.
Congratulations! You have successfully added Queer Connect KC as a co-host to your Facebook page event. This will ensure that your event is featured on our website, queerconnect.org, and included in our Community Calendar, providing more visibility to the LGBTQ+ community in Kansas City.
